Early Intervention Pennsylvania

What is Early Intervention?

Early Intervention (EI) refers to services and support provided to young children from birth to age 5, who have developmental delays, disabilities, or conditions that may affect their growth and/or learning. The goal of early intervention is to identify and address these issues as early as possible to help children reach their full potential.

Early Intervention Ages Birth-5

Early Intervention therapists provide infants and toddlers with individualized therapeutic support, such as ABA therapy, autism support, behavior therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, special instruction and other specialized services, to promote learning and growth. Therapies are designed to address each child’s specific needs and provide families with the skills to help their child navigate their daily surroundings and activities.

Early intervention therapy is critical because it addresses developmental delays, learning, and skill difficulties during a child’s most formative years. This period is a time of rapid brain development, where interventions can have the greatest impact on a child’s growth and long-term abilities.
